Understanding Projection
Projection is one of the most powerful features in Mental Canvas, offering artists the freedom to create dynamic 3D scenes from 2D drawings. By projecting strokes into space, you can maintain the integrity of your original view while adding depth and dimensionality to your scene. This allows you to explore your drawing from multiple angles while preserving the intended composition.

You can project entire canvases directly from Draw or View Mode, or specific strokes or images using Selection Mode. When you move content closer to the camera, it appears smaller, while moving it further away makes it larger. The projection tools automatically scale and translate the content to ensure it maintains its appearance from the original view, allowing you to adjust depth without altering composition.
Projection Tools
The two projection tools let you move content you’ve already drawn to a different position in space.
Before starting a projection, always ensure you are at the view you want to preserve. The system maintains this view throughout your projection actions, ensuring your original perspective remains unchanged.
